The 'wireless extender' sitting between you and the 'main' router/wireless AP needs to re-broadcast everything, and simply speaking, it inevitably interferes with itself. Is it slow only when you are far from the router with several walls between you and the wireless access point? Then bringing the wireless access point closer to you will likely help. Is it slow when using wifi in the same room with clear line of sight at a time your neighbours are unlikely to be using their wireless devices? If so, a wireless extender / MoCA won't help. Is it slow through a wired ethernet connection? If so, wifi is not the culprit. If, in fact, you're getting 20 megaBITs down via wifi, figure out why. You didn't specify units, so are you sure you have 150 megaBITs down from Fido, and that you download over wifi at only 20 megaBITs? 20 megaBYTEs is equivalent to 160 megaBITs if you're getting 20 megabytes per second down then your ISP is your bottleneck. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theory u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
